As a junior accounting student at Santa Clara University I have focused on my studies and gaining valuable real-world experience. During my time at Santa Clara, I have taken many accounting classes that have sparked my interest in accounting and the CPA career path. Now after learning that accounting is the foundation for understanding a business, my goal is to become a CPA and develop my leadership skills to work and lead in the field. Starting in high school, I began working part time and pursuing internships. Through my work at The Broderick Group and PlayTable, managing various account reports, my attention to detail improved and I learned how important of a skill it is. My experience working for many different companies and teams within those companies, has helped me learn how to adapt to new work environments and learn quickly. As a founder of Santa Clara’s Club Soccer team, I have demonstrated my leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills. My responsibilities included helping to organize practice times, game schedules, and team events. It was important for me to be organized to get every teammate on the same page in order for the team to succeed. Open communication was essential to the success of the team. I hope to take my skills to help an organization and continue to learn new skills.
